A filter that transmits only selected visual spectral lines from emission nebulae. A typical filter transmits a band 25 nm wide, including the O III (495.9 and 500.7 nm) and Ηβ (485.6 nm) lines. Narrow-band filters transmit bands just 10 nm wide, isolating either O III or Ηβ.
