单词 | STM (Synchronous Transport Module) |
释义 | STM (Synchronous Transport Module) The electrical equivalent of the Synchronous Digital Hier- archy (SDH) optical signal, according to ITU-T international standards. The STM is known as Synchronous Transport Signal (STS) in Synchronous Optical Network (SONET) terminology, according to North American standards. The signal begins in electrical format as three T3 signals plus SDH signaling and control overhead and converts to optical format for transmission over the SDH optical fiber facilities. Each STM-1 frame is transmitted in 125µs, yielding raw bandwidth of 155.52 Mbps. The STS frame includes five elements: Synchronous Payload Envelope (SPE), Section Overhead (SOH), Line Overhead (LOH), Path Overhead (POH), and Payload. See also bandwidth, frame, ITU-T, LOH, overhead, payload, POH, SDH, signaling and control, SOH, SONET, SPE, and T3. |
