| 释义 | FTTC (Fiber-To-The-Curb) Also known as FTTN (Fiber-To-The-Node) A hybrid broadband local loop configuration that involves optical fiber from the edge of the telco or CATV network to an intelligent node at the curb, with one node serving perhaps many residences or small businesses.The few hundred meters or so of the local loop from the node to the premises generally is either unshielded twisted pair (UTP) in a telco application or coaxial cable (coax) in a CATV application, although some form of wireless technology is also possible. The fiber portion of a contemporary FTTC configuration generally conforms to one of the passive optical network (PON) standards.
