单词 | SI |
释义 | SI Système international d’unités, which translates from French as International System of Units, is the contemporary form of the metric system, based on international agreements reached by the General Conference on Weights and Measures. The SI metric system is a system of measurement (with fundamental units) of length (meter, or m), mass (kilogram, or kg), time (second, or s), electrical current (ampere, or A), thermodynamic temperature (Kelvin, or K), amount of substance (mole, or mol), and luminous intensity candela, or cd).All SI multiples are integer powers of ten. From these base units, other units, such as frequency (Hertz, or Hz) have been derived. In writing SI units, the number value is always followed by a space; units are never capitalized when spelled out (e.g., hertz, Kelvin, and seconds), but units that are names are capitalized when abbreviated (e.g., Hz, K, s). |
