单词 | G.lite |
释义 | G.lite Also known as ADSL Lite, universal ADSL, and splitterless ADSL. Specified by the American National Standards Institute (ANSI) in T1.413 and standardized by the ITU-T in Recommendation G.992.2, G.lite is an interoperable extension of asymmetric digital subscriber line (ADSL).Three deployment options exist, all of which support simultaneous voice and data communications over a single unshielded twisted pair (UTP) local loop comprising one physical pair. One option involves a centralized splitter and another, distributed splitters. The third, and most significant option, is that of splitterless DSL, supporting high-frequency data communications through an ADSL modem not requiring professional installation. G.lite operates on an asymmetric basis over local loops up to 18,000 feet in length, at signaling rates of up to 1.544 Mbps (T1) downstream and up to 512 kbps upstream, sensitive to loop characteristics. Upstream and downstream speeds both are selectable in increments of 32 kbps. Because of bandwidth limitations, G.lite never gained much traction in the market, but introduced the splitterless concept.
