Asteroid 4769, a member of the Apollo group, discovered in 1989 by the American astronomer Eleanor Kay Helin, née Francis (1932–2009). Radar observations show that it consists of two kilometre-sized lobes, apparently in contact, giving it a maximum length of about 1.8 km. Castalia can approach to 0.021 au (3.1 million km) of Earth. Its orbit has a semimajor axis of 1.06 au, period 1.10 years, perihelion 0.55 au, aphelion 1.58 au, and inclination 8°.9.
