A small monkey (family Callitrichidae), about 20 cm long, with claws rather than nails, that lives in family groups of up to 15 in the canopy of South American forests. Marmosets are highly agile and feed mainly on tree sap, but also on fruit, leaves, and insects. There are 22 species.
