A satellite navigation system currently being deployed by China. A limited test system was begun in 2000, but a full global system is now being deployed, with expected completion in 2020. This will have thirty-five satellites, with five in geostationary orbit and another thirty in mostly medium earth orbits. See also Galileo; GLONASS; GPS.
