A reference soil group in the World Reference Base for Soil Resources used by the FAO. Alisols have an argic B horizon (see argic horizon) with a cation-exchange capacity of more than 24 cmol_c/kg clay and a base saturation of less than 50% within 100 cm of the soil surface. Alisols have a high concentration of aluminium.
