A bridge with six arms that has been developed from the Wheatstone bridge for measuring low resistances. The bridge is connected as shown in the diagram: X is the low resistance to be measured and #6S #5is a standard low resistance. Two sets of variable resistances, R₁, R₂ and r₁, r₂ are varied together until balance is achieved. At balance: R₁/R₂ = r₁/r₂ = X/S. The method eliminates errors due to contact resistance and the resistance of the leads.
