A bridge with six arms that has been developed from the Wheatstone bridge for measuring low resistances. The bridge is connected as shown in the diagram: X is the low resistance to be measured and #6S #5is a standard low resistance. Two sets of variable resistances, R1, R2 and r1, r2 are varied together until balance is achieved. At balance: R1/R2 = r1/r2 = X/S. The method eliminates errors due to contact resistance and the resistance of the leads.
