A posting which contains details of the plot of a book or film or provides the answer to a puzzle. Spoilers, as their name suggests, spoil the enjoyment of contributors to social media and are discouraged. If it is necessary to send a spoiler there are a number of conventions that should be adopted, such as placing the word ‘spoiler’ in the header of a posting. See also spoiler space.
