A type of reciprocating pump that operates with two pistons or plungers. The pistons operate out of phase in which one pump begins discharging as the other has just finished its stroke and returns to fill. The result is a near-continuous flow. The rate of flow is the product of the frequency of the strokes and the displacement per stroke.
