A battle during the French and Indian wars that took place on a plateau above the city of Quebec, Canada. Wolfe ferried British troops up the St Lawrence past the French fort. Having tricked the sentries into believing them to be French, the British climbed the precipitous Heights of Abraham. In the ensuing battle, the French garrison under Montcalm was routed and Quebec surrendered. Both commanders died but the British victory ended French rule in Canada.
