Daily variations in the geomagnetic field, determined from hourly measurements made at observatories, of the horizontal component (H), declination, and vertical component (Z) of the field. Most of these variations (Sq variations) are attributed to ionospheric currents induced by solar radiation, but some are associated with lunar effects (Lq variations).
