单词 | ISO (International Organization for Standardization) |
释义 | ISO (International Organization for Standardization) A network of the standards institutes of 157 countries. ISO is not an acronym. Rather, it is derived from the Greek isos, meaning equal, suggesting that all members of the organization have an equal voice. ISO is a non-governmental organization intended to serve as a bridge not only between countries, but between the governmental and private sectors. In the context of telecommunications, ISO is perhaps best known for the development of the OSI Reference Model. See Appendix A for contact information. See also OSI Reference Model. |
