An instrument group on the Cassini spacecraft designed to measure dust particles in Saturn’s rings. The three CDA instruments are: the precision dust velocity sensor to measure the speed, direction, and charge of a particle; the impact plasma sensor to measure the mass and speed of particles; and the chemical analyser to measure the atomic composition.
http://www.jpl.nasa.gov/jupiterflyby/science/cda.html Documents the Jupiter fly-by of 2000. The instruments carried by Cassini, including the cosmic-dust analyser, are described. There are pictures of the instrument and links to further information on cosmic dust and particle sensors.
