The MAGIC telescopes are owned and operated by a consortium of institutions from Germany, Italy, Spain, Switzerland, Bulgaria, Croatia, Finland, Poland, India, and Japan. MAGIC-I began operation in 2004 and MAGIC-II in 2009.
