A two-wheeled vehicle used on the Moon by the Apollo 14 astronauts, Alan Shepard and Edgar Mitchell in 1971. It was nicknamed ‘the rickshaw’. The MET was tubular shaped and was 218 cm long, 99 cm wide, and 81 cm high. It had inflated tyres, two legs for stability at rest, and was pulled by a single handle. Its Earth weight was 12 kg, and it could carry 63 kg. The MET aided surface exploration on the Moon's surface by serving as a carrier for geology hand tools, four cameras, film, bags for rock and soil samples, a work table, and a lunar surface penetrometer to determine the hardness of the lunar surface.
