A configuration that may be employed in microwave antennas using a parabolic ‘dish’ to achieve the beam focus and gain. It involves the use of a secondary reflector and an axial feed; the principle is illustrated in the diagram, which shows how the length of the feed to the antenna can be substantially reduced by the Cassegrain feed.
