A landslide made up of fragments and blocks of rock (slide-rock), and which is typical of steep slopes. The failure unit may consist of the weathered zone, when the form of the unweathered bedrock surface determines the shape of the shear plane. Elsewhere, failure may be defined by major joints or bedding planes.
