单词 universal soil loss equation
释义
universal soil loss equation

Geology and Earth Sciences
  • An equation that is used to predict the extent of soil erosion, principally on farm land: soil loss = R × K × LS × P, where R is an index of rainfall, K is an index of the susceptibility of the soil to erosion, LS is an index of slope length (L) and steepness (S), and P is an index of conservation measures that will be implemented.

Geography
  • An empirical model of the relationships between the various components of soil loss and rates of erosion. It has the form:

    A=R×K×L×S×C×P
    where A is the mean annual soil loss, R is a rainfall erosivity factor, L a slope length factor, S a slope steepness factor, C a crop management factor, P an erosion control practice factor, and K the soil erodibility index.
