The flux through any area in the medium surrounding a magnet or current-carrying conductor, equal to the surface integral of the magnetic flux density over the area. It is measured by the e.m.f. produced when a circuit linking the flux is removed from it. One weber of flux linking a circuit of one turn produces an e.m.f. of one volt in that circuit when the flux is reduced to zero.
