A network of 175 Doppler radar installations, completed in 1996, that cover the whole of the USA. They are located at weather stations, airports, and military bases. Each is mounted on a tower and provides three-dimensional images of weather conditions with clear resolution to 200 km and poorer resolution to 320 km.
