A Japanese ISAS mission to comet Halley, launched in 1985, carrying instruments to measure plasma wave spectra, solar wind ions, and interplanetary magnetic fields. All its instruments worked correctly. Sakigake flew by Halley on 11 March 1986, and swung by Earth three times, on 8 January 1992, 14 June 1993, and 28 October 1994. Communication with the satellite ended on 7 January 1999.
