A mixture of gases produced as a result of combustion that emerge from a stack or chimney. The gases contain smoke, particulates, carbon dioxide, water vapour, unburnt oxygen, nitrogen, etc. An Orsat analysis is a reliable way to determine the composition of the flue gas and the efficiency of combustion although it has largely been replaced by other techniques.
