A battle fought close to the English town of Bosworth in Leicestershire, its outcome was to establish Henry VII and the Tudor dynasty on the English throne. Just over a fortnight after Henry had landed on the Welsh coast, he and his army of Welsh followers were met in battle by Richard III’s larger army. The issue was uncertain when Lord Stanley arrived and with his followers went over to Henry’s side; Henry was victorious, Richard was killed, and at the end of the day Stanley placed Richard’s crown on Henry’s head.
