Iran’s first imaging satellite, launched aboard a Safir rocket on 15 June 2015 and placed into low Earth orbit at an altitude of 299 km. The 15.3-kg satellite imaged the earth’s surface to a resolution of 150 metres before its orbit began to decay only three weeks later, when the mission ended.
