1. A high-level computer programming language first introduced in 1991. It is widely used and runs on most operating systems.

2. A non-venomous snake (family Pythonidae) that usually hunts by lying motionless and camouflaged, then striking at prey that comes within range, using its backward-facing teeth to prevent the prey escaping, killing it by constriction, and swallowing it whole. Most prey consists of small mammals but larger snakes take larger prey. There are eight genera and 31 species, found in sub-Saharan Africa, southern Asia, the Philippines, Indonesia, and Australia.
