Photometry using filters with a bandwidth of 3–10 nm. For wavelength ranges narrower than 3 nm a spectrophotometer must be used, since it is difficult to make filters with such a narrow bandwidth. Narrow-band systems are mostly used when it is necessary to isolate an individual spectroscopic line or molecular band.
