Electromagnetic waves carry energy and momentum, which may be imparted when it interacts with matter. In order of increasing frequency, the electromagnetic spectrum includes radio waves, microwaves, terahertz radiation, infrared radiation, visible light, ultraviolet radiation, x-rays and gamma rays. |
