call pick-up A voice telephone system feature that enables users in a programmed call pick-up group (e.g., workgroup) to answer calls for each other. In a key telephone system (KTS) environment, a user can pick up a call at any phone where the line appears by dialing a feature code, usually of three characters. In a PBX environment, an authorized user can enter a code on the set keypad or by depressing a designated feature button on an electronic set, with no line appearance on the set necessary.
