SRP (Source Routing Protocol) A bridge protocol developed for Token Ring local area networks (LANs) and used in other LANs, as well. In SRP, packets are programmed with specific routes, comprising lists of bridges based on considerations such as the physical location of the nodes and the capacity of the links involved. The maximum number of bridges hopped is 13. See also bridge, hop, LAN, link, node, protocol, route, and Token Ring. |
