1. (harvestman) A long-legged arachnid (order Opiliones), with more than 10,000 species (some short-legged) and an oval body that appears to be a single structure, but comprises a cephalothorax (combined head and thorax) and abdomen. Most are nocturnal and omnivorous. They occur on all continents except for Antarctica.
2. (cellar spider) A long-legged spider (Pholcus phalangioides, family Pholcidae) that constructs its web on ceilings, in caves or houses. It occurs in warm climates worldwide.
