释义	Oldham, Richard Dixon (1858–1936) Geology and Earth Sciences A British seismologist, Oldham worked for the Indian Geological Survey. In 1897 he showed that P- and S-waves could be distinguished from each other on seismograms, and that they travelled through the Earth’s interior. In 1906 he was able to show that the Earth has a fluid core, through the existence of the S-wave shadow zone, and was able to estimate its size.
