A strategy reversing the normal logic of induction, by taking the way things are within our experience as a guide to how they will not be outside our experience. It proves surprisingly hard to formulate a consistent counter-inductive strategy. For example, a red tomato has not been yellow so the strategy might be to predict that it will be yellow. But it has also not been blue, but one cannot also predict that it will be blue, because it is inconsistent to predict that it will be both yellow and blue.
