A space-station component that allows more than one visiting spacecraft to dock at the same time. Skylab was fitted with such an adapter. The Russian space station Mir was fitted with a multiple-docking adapter with five ports, a large improvement on the Russian Salyut space station. The adapter on Mir allowed Soyuz spacecraft and supply vehicles to attach at various points, and extra modules could also be added.
