The period after a particular electronic device, circuit, or apparatus has been switched on during which it reaches a state of thermal equilibrium with its surroundings. A circuit may not be fully operational until after the warm-up period, as the electrical characteristics of its components tend to drift towards their steady value during this period. The warm-up includes the time that any individual device contained in the apparatus under consideration takes to heat up to a steady temperature.
