with the National Space Development Agency (NASDA). He flew on the space shuttle Endeavour in September 1992 with the US–Japanese Spacelab mission. He also flew on Endeavour in February 2000, as part of the Shuttle Radar Topography Mission, and for the first time ever he acquired Earth observation data with a high-definition television (HDTV) camera. Mohri logged 459 hours in space. He was selected as an astronaut by NASDA in 1985.
