Devices, circuits, and antennae that operate with electromagnetic radiation in the millimetre wave region. As millimetre waves only propagate by line of sight and are absorbed by the atmosphere, they are used mainly for short-range high-speed data links or short-range radar. They are also used in airport security scanners.
