One of China’s greatest soldiers, he unified much of northern China after the collapse of the Han dynasty. His conquests enabled his son to found the Wei kingdom, one of the Three Kingdoms. His campaigns and adventures are recorded in one of the classics of Chinese literature, The Romance of the Three Kingdoms.
