单词 tuned circuit
释义
tuned circuit

Physics
  • A resonant circuit in which there is a resonance at a certain frequency. The process of altering the characteristics of the circuit so that it resonates, i.e. its impedance is at its minimum, is called tuning the circuit. This is achieved either by altering the capacitance of the circuit, called capacitive tuning, or altering the inductance of the circuit, called inductive tuning.

Electronics and Electrical Engineering
  • A resonant circuit that contains some form of tuning so that the natural resonant frequency of the circuit may be varied. The resonance condition for forced oscillations can thus be changed. A tuned circuit is used to select the frequency of resonance of a variety of frequency-selective devices, such as audiofrequency amplifiers. Tuning may be carried out by adjusting the value of the capacitance (capacitive tuning), or the inductance (inductive tuning), or both. Inductive tuning is commonly achieved by altering the position of a suitably shaped piece of soft ferromagnetic material (a slug) relative to a coil in the circuit (slug tuning).
