A type of asteroid distinguished by a low albedo (0.04–0.11), with a moderate absorption feature at wavelengths shorter than 0.85 μ‎m and a generally flat reflectance spectrum in the near-infrared. Examples include (96) Aegle, diameter 178 km, (308) Polyxo, diameter 129 km, and (114) Kassandra, diameter 94 km.
