A series of Israeli CubeSats built by students of the Israel Institute of Technology at Haifa. The 48-kg mini-satellite is a three-axis stabilized platform that can carry devices for space research and technological experiments. TechSat-1 was launched on 23 March 1995 aboard a Start booster but failed to reach orbit. TechSat-2 was launched successfully on 10 July 1998 aboard a Zenit rocket, which placed it in an 820-km-high orbit (when it was renamed Gurwin-2). The mission ended in March 2010 after 11 years of service, making TechSat one of the most successful multi-purpose and reliable micro-satellites.
