A NASA Jupiter orbiter, launched in 2011 August. After undergoing an Earth gravity assist in 2013 October, Juno arrived at Jupiter in 2016 July and went into a highly elliptical polar orbit, bringing it as close as 4500 km from Jupiter’s cloud tops. Juno maps Jupiter’s gravitational field and magnetosphere and analyses its atmospheric composition and structure.
