The first regularly published Statistics journal in the world. Currently the journal is published as three series. Series A, now quarterly and entitled Statistics in Society, was first published in 1839. Series B, Statistical Methodology, was first published in 1934. Series C, Applied Statistics, was first published in 1954. These last two journals now appear five times a year. A fourth series (D), The Statistician, formerly the journal of the Institute of Statisticians, ceased publication in 2003.
