An upland area in the northern hemisphere of Venus, 5600 km long and 600 km wide. It includes the high volcanic plateau Lakshmi Planum, itself over 2000 km across, which rises to nearly 5 km above the planet’s mean radius. This contains Maxwell Montes, at 11 km the highest peak on Venus, and two large volcanic calderas, Colette Patera (149 km diameter) and Sacajawea Patera (233 km diameter). Lakshmi is surrounded by mountain ranges and tesserae.
