One of the early vector processors, manufactured by CDC and unique on several grounds: it is one of the large machines built by CDC that was not designed by Seymour Cray (the architect was Jim Thornton); it was noted for having very wide words that can be processed in parallel; it was the first machine marketed that was aimed at very rapid processing of vectors.
