The special food for astronauts on a mission. It can be fresh, irradiated, freeze-dried, or dehydrated. Early flights carried soft food in tubes or as tablets. Modern supplies on the space shuttle and International Space Station include about 100 choices of food and 20 drinks. NASA's condiments include salt, pepper, ketchup, mayonnaise, mustard, and taco sauce. Vitamins are also available, as are sweets and chewing gum.
