  • An intermediate condition between debris flow and normal streamflow (Katoka and Natajo (2002) Sedimentol. 49, 2); a liquid–solid two-phase flow, in which the liquid phase is a syrup made of water and fine sediment less than 0.01 mm in diameter, and the solid-phase consists of coarse particles larger than 0.05 mm suspended in the syrup (Chien, ed. (1989), cited by Xu and Yan (2006) Geomorph. 73, 1–2).
