A European-built probe, part of the Cassini–Huygens mission to Saturn. In 2005 January, Huygens landed on Saturn’s largest moon, Titan. During its descent it studied the moon’s clouds and atmosphere and photographed the surface below. It landed on a slushy area dotted with boulders composed of water ice, under orange clouds composed of complex hydrocarbons. Huygens transmitted from the surface of Titan for 1h 10m.
